CAMPING BUFFELSPOORT

One more Sleepy, and we are off for a camping weekend

with our whole "HKGK" gang.

Going Camping, with the gang on a regular basis,

like once a month or once every second month

 was a regualr thing that we did for about 10 years running,

Then things changed slightly, life became a little more expensive

 and the camps became fewer and fewer,

but we are hoping to start getting back into it again,

 starting with this camp this weekend.

Its the first camp since last year February,

and even at that camp the whole gang was not there,

this weekend on the other hand practically the

whole gang will be there, except *

(Maybe) for the Du Plessis, Justin who has to stay behind

and study and is really Green about it,

and Ellen who works really ridiculous hours.

But other than those Every member of the HKGK Gang

will be present this weekend, and everyone

so far will be going on our 2010 Road Trip.

DONOVAN'S BIRTHDAY BRAAI

ABSA MAD (Make A Difference) Building Project

Every year ABSA has this MAD build a house project, where they undertake to build a certain number of houses in a week.  This year they undertook to build 100 houses.  They then approach large organisations for donations, for the building materials and man power.  Last year our Company (Bytes Managed Services) sponosered the building of three houses in Orange Farm.  This year they sponsored two houses, and volanteers to go out for the day and assist the qualified builders with the building by assisting with all the unskilled jobs, like throwing bricks for the buildiers to build with, mixing cement cleaning the mess up cleaning the garden, plastering and putting the roof on etc etc.  Then every day for a week, plus minus 30 employees that volanteered go out for the day and help with the building. Yesterday was my departments turn (Payroll office), along with a number of other employees who volanteered.  Here are some of the pics........

7h00 am, before leaving we were given breakfast packs, which had
a cheese tomatoe and lettuce sandwich in, a yoghurt, a muffin, a jungle bar and
a liqui fruit.  We were also given gloves and hard hats

One of the two houses, we were assigned to, this is how far it was

when we got there on Thursday.  They started it on Monday.

However it was not organised very well this year, as we had to wait

for supplies to be delivered or they werent delivered at all.  In which

case we moved on to help others at other sites
